Burn
On PlayStation the notes map Burn to X. Potboy, Housy, and the Burnt One give themselves up. The sun comes back. People you met celebrate. The monsters look pained. Sunlight hits Moon Mountain. The trophy is Burn Out. An IGN writer calls this the true ending because the fate you were given was to light the sun. That is a reviewer’s reading, not a studio stamp.
Stop
Circle, on PlayStation, is Stop. Potboy holds the flame back before it breaks. The world stays dark. The three of you live and keep walking. The people are quiet or disappointed. The monsters are calm. The trophy is Fade Away. “Keeping the dark,” a phrase that is not a trophy name, is this choice.
See both without a second story
Resume from the main menu to the last Moon Mountain checkpoint, or replay chapter 6 with chapter select. The Soulfisher says the same farewell either way. No guide checked for this page found an official third or secret ending.
Common questions
Which ending is canon?
None is marked. IGN’s writer prefers Burn. The platinum needs both trophies.
Is Stop a bad ending?
It is the choice that keeps the companions and the dark. The game still gives it a trophy.
Do I replay the whole game?
No. The last checkpoint, or chapter select on Moon Mountain, is enough.
