The Midnight Walk on PC

Two PC stores sell the same walk. Both can do VR. Steam is where the Deck status and the spec sheet live. GOG is where the sale was, the day I looked.

Source notes

Steam supplies the published PC minimum and Deck compatibility report. GOG is another PC storefront with flat and VR play; its store arrival should not be confused with the original Steam release date.

Steam and GOG

The game launched on Steam on 8 May 2025. GOG also sells it, but that does not establish a same-day GOG release. Standard price $29.99. Steam’s install note is 18 GB available space. The minimum list is Windows 10, Intel i7-6700K, 16 GB RAM, and a GTX 1070, and Steam says that list is for the flatscreen version. There is no recommended spec on the page. I will not invent an RTX number.

VR headsets named on Steam: Index, Quest via Link, Rift S, Rift. GOG states the copy includes flat and VR. A native Quest app is not this. Details and the “no, it is not VR only” answer are on the VR page. Full minimum table: system requirements.

Deck and settings

Steam’s Deck status is a label Steam can change. I am not stamping “Verified” into a sentence that will rot. Read the current badge on the store, then the Deck page for what that badge warned on the day I checked.

PCGamingWiki records a gamepad-recommended game, remappable mouse and keyboard, and no native HDR. Controller buttons are not remappable in their table. Those settings, and the HDR “there isn’t a toggle” answer, are on controls and settings.

Which PC copy

Buy Steam if you want the Deck badge, achievements in Steam, and the discussion hub. Buy GOG if the sale is real when you look and you want a DRM-free installer. I am not recommending grey-market keys. Links are on download.
